Book NowWhat Is Microneedling?
If you're not happy with the results you're getting from over-the-counter skin care products but aren't sure about surgery, you may be interested in microneedling, a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation technique that is in high demand. Also called collagen induction therapy, microneedling uses multiple fine needles to effectively and safely create tiny cuts in the skin. These "micro-injuries" trigger the body's natural production of collagen and elastin, two nutrients that enhance the appearance and health of your skin. Deanna Turner, owner and lead aesthetician at Lumé Aesthetics, is excited to perform this effective cosmetic treatment for the benefit of our patients. Often combined with other treatments, like serums or PRP (platelet-rich plasma), microneedling may help reduce stretch marks, scars, and pores. Make an appointment for a consultation at our Henderson, NV office to learn more about the benefits of microneedling and ways to customize the treatment for your skin concerns and goals.

How Does Microneedling Work?
Microneedling is a nonsurgical procedure that generally takes between 30 – 60 minutes at our Henderson, NV office. We offer collagen induction therapy treatments using state-of-the-art techniques and are happy to add extra services on request:
-
ProCell™ Microchanneling: Microchanneling involves using extremely small, thin needles to create minuscule micro-injuries in the skin. In response, the body increases its production of collagen and elastin to heal these channels, creating a healthy glow. At Lumé Aesthetics, we can perform microneedling for the face, neck, and/or neckline, adding platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to enhance your results on request.
-
PiXel8-RF™ Microneedling: This more advanced treatment uses radiofrequency (RF) energy in addition to microneedling to amplify your body's healing processes. The result is firmer, radiant skin. As with our other microneedling treatments, the PiXel8 can be used on the face, neck, and/or neckline. PRP can also be added for even more remarkable outcomes.
-
PRP Skin Rejuvenation: Formulated with your own blood, platelet-rich plasma can help stimulate your body's healing and growth processes to fortify the skin and hair. After applying the PRP to your skin, our team will perform either the ProCell or PiXel8-RF to deliver the plasma deep in your skin while stimulating your body's collagen production. We frequently recommend PRP with microneedling for patients who want to treat melasma, hair loss, or acne scarring.
After deciding on a treatment plan, we'll have you lie back in one of our spa-like treatment rooms as we thoroughly cleanse and prepare your skin. We may also apply a numbing lotion to dull any discomfort from the procedure. Once you're ready, Deanna will use the selected handpiece to gently and evenly treat your skin before applying topical PRP (if requested) and a moisturizing sunscreen to protect your refreshed complexion. Your skin will likely be sensitive, pink, or mildly swollen for a day or so following your microneedling treatment, but this is normal and will pass naturally. Over the next 1 – 2 months, you should begin to see improvements in the health and appearance of your complexion as your body's healing processes work. We suggest scheduling a number of follow-up treatments to maintain your newly rejuvenated look.

About UsMicroneedling FAQs
How much does microneedling cost?
In your initial consultation, Dr. Turner will perform a skin analysis and then create your custom plan. Once this is done, she will explain your costs and the procedure process. Lumé Aesthetics often has discounts on treatment packages, so ask about our current deals in your appointment.
What exactly is microneedling?
Collagen induction therapy or microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure to rejuvenate your skin. Collagen is a fibrous protein that helps your skin stay supple, smooth, and firm. As you age, your collagen stores are reduced and your skin gets thin and less elastic. Microneedling causes tiny skin wounds. These micro-injuries cause your skin to generate new skin cell growth and increase collagen production. After a short recovery period, your skin is healthier, firmer, and brighter.
Can I combine other treatments with microneedling?
In the process of microneedling, channels are made that help other treatments penetrate the deeper layers. This is why microneedling is often combined with other skin treatments, such as special serums or platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Microneedling with PRP has become known as a vampire facial. During your initial consultation, Dr. Turner can explain what treatments may be performed along with microneedling and which would most benefit your skin.
